"One class group has been advised that they must stay at home for 14 days, in line with government guidance.

"All parents have been informed..

“The school has worked hard to ensure the appropriate measures are in place in school and the rest of the school remains open as normal. The school continues to follow all government and public health guidance on hygiene and safety measures.“

Elsewhere some schools have struggled with social distancing at school pick up time.

One concerned parent posted pictures online showing crowds of parents at the school gates.

She said: “Some not-so-fantastic social distancing at our school today with very poor organisation and children left out in the rain.

The school in Sutton-in-Ashfield have been approached for comment.

Anne Marie Allen drove past her local primary school this morning to see no social distancing amongst parents.

She said: “I assume they are staggering the start times but I didn't see one mask and everyone was gathered outside the gates having a lovely catch up chat – a group of around 25 people.”

Elsewhere, schools in the area have been praised for their organisation, and pupils and parents reported feeling safe.
