Eligible Mansfield people share their Covid-19 vaccine experiences - and many say they are still waiting to have their jab despite being in priority groups

We asked our readers who are eligible for an appointment what their experiences of having the jab have been so far.

Out of the 34 responses we received, only one reader told us about their family members successfully getting the vaccine.

Most readers said they, or their family members, have not yet been contacted to get the jab.

Debbie Mayes, said: “My mum has not had a letter yet she's over 80-years-old.”

Carol Pyle has had a similar experience.

She said: “My mother-in -aw is 91, we have heard nothing.”

Annie Catherall, said: “The government said they were giving it to the extremely vulnerable as well, which they haven't.”

Some of our readers shared concerns about the deployment of the vaccine.

Linda Baldwin said: “Either Notts are massively behind or the order is being bypast.“There are still people in categories one and two that haven’t been notified.“All over 80’s were meant to have been notified by this week.”

Sharon Chadwick: “Nottingham seems to be way behind.”

Terry Steele said: “What about people, who live in local care homes?

"Sadly many of them still haven’t had their vaccinations yet, despite repeated promises that they would be the first to be vaccinated.

“How can the NHS justify moving on to the next phase of vaccinating over 70’s when these elderly residents, including my 94-year-old mother, still haven’t had theirs yet?”
