Covid-19 death toll at Mansfield hospitals increases as 3 more fatalities confirmed

A total of three more patients have died from coronavirus while being treated at hospitals across Mansfield, latest NHS data has confirmed.

Most recent figures released by NHS England this afternoon (Tuesday, December 8) reveals that a further three patients at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust have passed away from Covid-19.

The trust which runs Mansfield Community Hospital, King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton and Newark Hospital now has a total of 221 coronavirus related deaths since the pandemic first hit back in March of this year.

Across England, a further 325 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England up to 42,904.

Patients were aged between 42 and 101 years old and all except 12 had known underlying health conditions.

The date of deaths ranged from November 5 to December 7, with the majority being on or after December 4.
