A total of three more people have lost their lives to coronavirus while being treated by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the most recent Covid-19 data has confirmed.

The trust, which runs Mansfield Community Hospital, Newark Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton, now has a death toll of 239, since the crisis first hit back in March earlier this year.

Across the country, a further 369 people died after contracting the Covid-19, increasing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 45,126.

A total of 104 of these virus related fatalities occurred in healthcare facilities across the Midlands.

The patients who lost their lives between August 4 and December 15 were aged between 40 and 100 years old and all except 13 people had known underlying health conditions.
