Coronavirus in Nottinghamshire key facts: 29 cases reported as Mansfield schools close

How many cases have been reported

The number of coronavirus cases in Nottinghamshire increased by one in one day, bringing the total number confirmed to 29 as of the latest information released by Public Health England yesterday (March 19).

Cases in Nottingham City are counted separately, and there are currently 14 cases in the area.

The number of cases in Nottinghamshire remains relatively low, with neighbouring Derbyshire having 40, and Derby 9.

On Tuesday, King's Mill Hospital confirmed it was treating a patient who had tested positive for the virus

The hospital also has new visitor restrictions in place to help minimise the spread of the virus

The number of cases in the UK now stands at 3,267 - as death toll reaches 144

Libraries and visitor attractions have closed to visitors across Nottinghamshire, and couples who have booked weddings have been urged to consider postponing their celebrations.

However, The National Trust has opened most of its gardens and parks for free, so you can get some fresh air while social-distancing.

Schools across the country have closed to all pupils except those with parents who are ‘key workers’
