How many cases have been reported

The number of coronavirus cases in Nottinghamshire now stands at 60.

Nottinghamshire is classed as a separate area, and has 34 confirmed cases.

A further 37 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus nationwide have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England as of yesterday (March 22) to 257.

Five people tested positive for Covid-19 have now died across the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Closures

Despite the National Trust announcing it would not charge visitors entry fees, they later decided to close their open spaces due to an “unprecedented level” of visitors.

The government advised yesterday (March 22) that 1.5 million Brits with serious medical conditions will be told to stay at home for 12 weeks

High Street stores such as Primark, John Lewis and Timpson announced they would close temporarily

McDonald’s, Costa and Nando’s all announced they will also close temporarily, after the government ordered bars, pubs and restaurants to close.

What is coronavirus?

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness that can affect lungs and airways. It is caused by a virus called coronavirus.

What are the symptoms?

The NHS states that the symptoms are: a dry cough, high temperature and shortness of breath - but these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness.

Look out for flu-like symptoms, such as aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose and a sore throat.
