Coronavirus: Mansfield death toll rises as confirmed cases in Nottinghamshire near 1,000

One more patient from the Mansfield area who tested positive for coronavirus has died.

There have now been a total of 83 recorded deaths at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust , which runs King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital, an increase of one in the past 24 hours.

The patient’s family have been informed.

Across Nottinghamshire, there were 993 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of yesterday (25 April), Public Health England said.

Throughout England, a further 336 people who tested positive for the Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in the country to 18,420.

All figures provided are given for at least one day previous.

The Department for Health said delays in the length of time to confirm publicly a death of somebody testing positive for Covid-19 can occur for reasons such as an individual being tested post-mortem or difficulties in tracing and informing family members.
