Coronavirus a year on: Deaths in each Mansfield area revealed

The number of Covid-19 deaths in each Mansfield neighbourhood over the past year has been revealed.

As we approach one year since the first lockdown began, the Office of National Statistics has published data showing the number of of deaths caused by Covid-19 registered between March 2020 and February 2021.

The area with the highest percentage of fatalities was Forest Town and Newlands, where 37 Covid-related deaths made up 31 per cent of the 118 total deaths during the pandemic.

Six of the 13 areas of Mansfield saw Covid deaths make up at least 20 per cent of all fatalities over the past 12 months.

The latest Government data shows one Covid-related death (within 28 days of a positive test) has been recorded in the seven days up to and including March 19, and four have been recorded in March so far.
