Another Covid-19 patient dies in Mansfield

Most recent data released this afternoon (December 5) from NHS England revealed that one more person died from the deadly virus while being cared for by Sherwood Hospitals NHS Trust.

Since the pandemic hit, the trust, which runs Newark Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and King's Mill Hospital in Sutton and has recorded a total of 215 virus-related fatalities.

On Friday (December 4), a patient lost their life to coronavirus and four more patients were confirmed to have died within the trust the day before (December 3).

A further 315 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 42,194.

The Covid-19 infection rates in Mansfield and Ashfield have fallen significantly in the last week, with new case numbers dropping by more than 100 in both areas.
