Coronavirus: Two more patients die in Mansfield's hospitals

Mansfield’s Covid-19 death toll has risen again after two more patients being treated for the disease died in the town.

New NHS England figures which document the deaths reported by Sherwood Forest NHS Foundation Trust show that two more patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have passed away.

This brings the total number of coronavirus related fatalities at the Trust, which runs Kings Mill and Mansfield Community Hospital, to 191.

The town's infection rate has fallen slightly- it stands at 350.4 new cases per 100,000 people. This amounts to 383 new cases in the week to November 16.

In the week to November 9, the infection rate was 364.1 new cases per 100,000 people, which meant there were 398 confirmed new cases.

Across England, 222 additional people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total deaths in hospitals to 38,334.

Patients were aged between 30 and 99 years old. All except five (aged 30 to 81 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
