Coronavirus: No new deaths in Mansfield as 50 more die across England

No new coronavirus deaths have been reported in Mansfield over the past few days, say the Trust who run hospitals in the area.

So far 124 people who tested positive for the deadly bug have died under the care of Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust, which runs Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital.

The latest NHS figures show the number of deaths has remained static for almost a week.

It comes after some cities across the country were plunged back into full lockdown after a spike in cases.

In England a further 50 people who tested positive for Covid-19 died over the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,759.

Public Health England said that the patients were aged between 52 and 97 years old.

Two patients, aged 52 and 63, had no known underlying health conditions. Their families have been informed.
