Coronavirus: No new deaths in Mansfield as 36 die across England

Mansfield’s coronavirus death toll has remained static for over a week, according to the latest NHS figures.

So far 124 people who tested positive for the deadly bug have died in the care of the Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs King’s Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark Hospital.

However, there have been no new deaths over a 24 hour period.

Across the country a further 36 people who tested positive for the coronavirus have died in the past day, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,940.

Patients were aged between 53 and 98 years old. Two patients, aged 83 and 85, had no known underlying health conditions

The figures were provided by Public Health England as part of its daily breakdown.

They could be much higher as they do not include deaths that happened within care homes or the community.
