Folk from Mansfield and the surrounding districts joined thousands of people across the UK for a second "Clap for Carers" tribute, as this video shows.

The one-minute salute, with shouts, cheers and whistles was aimed at NHS staff, doctors, nurses, carers, pharmacists, emergency services such as the fire, ambulance and police, as well as other key workers dealing with the coronavirus crisis.

Households came out in force, onto doorsteps, streets and gardens, whilst others clapped from their windows, patios and balconies, to mark the nation’s gratitude at 8pm on Thursday, April 2.

The event is now expected to happen every week, on the same day and same time.
