Staff members Ryan Stacey, Matt Drury, Tom Robinson and Alastair Bacon composed the music for ‘Day after Day’ with students contributing the lyrics.

The song details what lockdown has been like for students and tells how the school is looking forward to reopening and welcoming them back when the time is right.

Staff members have also been involved in producing the video, which has been edited by Matt.

Ryan Stacey, head of music, said: “When I came up with the idea of recording this lockdown song from our own homes I wasn’t sure how successful it was going to be, but I am so

pleased with the final product.

“It’s incredibly professional and with all the lyrics being composed by our students it really depicts what the lockdown experience has been like for them.

“This project was an exciting one to work on and I look forward to sharing it with our school and wider community.”

During the pandemic, Bolsover School created and donated almost 400 visors for doctors and nurses battling Covid-19 at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

The technology department has also produced 490 ear savers – which allow elasticated masks to attach at the back of nurses’ heads to save their ears from becoming sore through prolonged use.
