Sutton: ATTFE College's EVOLVE programme empowers learners through creativity and community engagement
ATTFE College in Sutton has highlighted the positive impact of its EVOLVE alternative provisions programme as end of term approaches.
EVOLVE is an innovative initiative designed to support learners in building confidence, developing new skills and fostering meaningful connections with their local community.
The programme provides learners with opportunities to engage in practical, creative, and community-focused projects that encourage personal growth, self-expression, and achievement.
By creating supportive learning environments and real-world experiences, EVOLVE helps learners develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to succeed both in education and beyond.

A recent example of the programme's success is the Rumbles Cafe Artwork Project, which has seen learners work collaboratively to create unique pieces of artwork that will be displayed within the popular community café.
Through the project, learners have explored a variety of artistic techniques, materials, and creative mediums, allowing them to express themselves while developing valuable skills in design, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork.
The opportunity to create artwork for a public venue has given learners a strong sense of purpose and pride, knowing their contributions will be seen and appreciated by members of the local community.
Another project that EVOLVE learners are currently involved in are the building and painting of the colleges renown Remembrance Tommie’s, as well as creating expressive graffiti art for their creative lab sessions

The project demonstrates the wider aims of the EVOLVE programme, which extends beyond traditional education by providing enriching experiences that promote wellbeing, boost self-esteem, and encourage active community participation.
Learners can develop practical skills in authentic settings while seeing the tangible impact of their efforts.
Katie Barrett, head of learner experience at the college, said: “Projects such as the Rumbles Café Artwork Project showcase the incredible creativity and potential of our learners.
"The EVOLVE programme is about creating opportunities for individuals to discover their strengths, gain confidence, and make positive contributions to their communities.
"We are immensely proud of what our learners have achieved.
“By combining creativity, practical learning, and community engagement, the EVOLVE programme continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of learners, helping them build brighter futures while contributing positively to the communities around them”.
ATTFE College looks forward to expanding opportunities through EVOLVE and celebrating the ongoing achievements of learners involved in the programme.
