Students at Dukeries Academy in Ollerton celebrate ‘exceptional’ GCSE’s on results day

Oliver Hall was the top performing Year 11 student at The Dukeries Academy, achieving sensational results.
Oliver said: “From the start of my time at The Dukeries, I have been very impressed by my supportive teachers.

Hide Ad“They’ve always pushed me to attain my highest possible achievement and I have never felt left out in lessons.
"For this reason, I am looking forward to the next chapter where I will, of course, be attending The Dukeries Academy Sixth Form.”
Alisha Knowles was also delighted after achieving outstanding results.
She said: “I am so happy with my results, which reflect my hard work and my mocks.

Hide Ad“Last year, I did early entry English Literature and achieved a grade 9 which just shows how amazing The Dukeries is because staff push us to achieve our best.
"Lockdown has been an incredibly difficult time, but my teachers have been amazing and helped us to prepare for A Levels and have also offered us emotional support.
"I can’t wait to start Sixth Form.”
Dylan Fairhurst has made great progress and has taken advantage of wider opportunities during his time at the Academy.
He said: “Dukeries is a supportive community where the teachers never hold you back.

Hide Ad"As well as my lessons, I have had opportunities to take part in extra-curricular activities such as plays which is important as it has supported my passion.
"I have chosen to do my A Levels at The Dukeries because I know I will enjoy my lessons and achieve highly.”
Ben Lawrence also made exceptional progress during his time at The Dukeries Academy.
Ben said: “I’ve loved my experience here learning new things and rediscovering who I am.

"I would like to thank all my teachers for their support, even when I didn’t believe in myself – teachers at The Dukeries never give up on you.”
The teachers at Dukeries congratulated the students for their achievements in a difficult year for education.
Principal Ged Rae said: “I am exceedingly proud of our students and staff.

"Although there has been significant uncertainty about exam results, over the past few weeks, I am delighted that our students have now received the grades that their hard work most certainly deserved.”
