The Inspire and Achieve Foundation’s first open day event at its alternative provision, Achievement Unlocked will be held on the 24th January 2026, between 10am-1pm.

The event, which promises families the opportunity to experience a fresh new educational approach, is designed to ensure young people aged 16+ with an EHCP can make informed decisions around the future of their education.

“A one-size fits all approach leaves many young people with special educational needs and disabilities on the fringes of their education, and we’ve met with many young people at risk of slipping through the gaps simply because their EHCP is outdated or their needs fall between the scope of mainstream and specialist schools,” explains Alternative Provision manager, Jaye Crew. “Here at Achievement Unlocked, we’re able to work flexibly with young people and their parents/carers to offer programmes truly tailored to the individual whilst also maintaining vital access to functional skills qualifications”

The project, based out of The Inspire and Achieve Foundation Hub on Yorke Street, is Mansfield’s latest alternative provision and extends the charity’s continued support for young residents of Nottinghamshire. Currently accepting new referrals to its small part-time classes, the alternative provision delivers the King’s Trust Achieve programme, alongside functional skills, to give learners a varied mix of experiences that align with current Preparing for Adulthood (PfA), education and health care outcomes. “Young people with an EHCP are entitled to access high quality educational settings up to age 25 years, and we strongly encourage anyone who is struggling to access their learning to come along and find out more about us at this upcoming event” said Pippa Carter, Director of The Inspire and Achieve Foundation which leads the project. Local parents also agree that the IAF's support can be life-changing. “Two major factors that contributed to my son’s positive outcome and U-turn were his positive experience during the King's Trust course and the IAF’s collective voices advocating so passionately for him,” said one mother. “Thanks to their help, support and determination, my son was empowered to access his education path”.
