Meden Vale school helps to put the brakes on speeding motorists

Police have teamed up with a Meden Vale school as part of an operation to target speeding motorists travelling through the village.

Officers from Mansfield’s Operation Reacher team and staff from Eastlands Junior School on Netherfield Lane stopped ‘a number of vehicles’ during the exercise – which took place following concerns by villagers.

“Most motorists were safely observing the speed limit today,” said a spokesman on Mansfield District Police’s Facebook page.

“Our time there gave us a great opportunity to speak with local residents and parents who were able to voice their concerns within the local community. These concerns can now be fed back to help the local policing plan.”
