It is one of three shortlisted projects being put to the public vote to win a grant of £8,000, £10,000 or £12,000 from Tesco, raised through the firm’s 5p charge for carrier bags.

Kim Wakefield, headteacher, said: “Playtimes are an important part of the day for our children. I would like to encourage all local people to support our school and vote for us.”

Customers will be given a voucher as they go through the tills to vote for one of the three projects until Sunday, March 6.
