Hucknall firm transforms art space at Kirkby primary school
Pupils at Greenwood Primary and Nursery School in Kirkby are enjoying a refreshed and inspiring creative space thanks to a transformation delivered by Hucknall-based educational resources company TTS.
The school’s art area has been redesigned and equipped to better support children’s creativity, independence and exploration.
The refreshed area includes a wide range of TTS resources, including own-brand arts and crafts consumables.
Monarch Education Furniture also donated a storage unit to help maximise organisation and accessibility.

Greenwood Primary School is part of the Flying High Partnership Trust, who have worked closely with TTS recently to support positive educational outcomes in the East Midlands.
The transformation at Greenwood has created a welcoming, well-organised environment where everything has a clear home, reducing time spent tidying and allowing children and staff to focus on creativity.
The redesigned space is already having a positive impact. Children are confidently selecting and returning their own resources, building independence and ownership of their learning.
Meanwhile, improved organisation helps staff maintain the space more efficiently, reducing waste and ensuring it remains inviting and functional every day.
Sarah Gilbody, deputy headteacher at the school, said: “When I first saw the children using the area, it was lovely to see how engaged they were, how explorative they were in their play, but also how they were experiencing the different resources and trying out different things.
“It was great that the children could talk to a member of staff about their own work that they had created, say what they liked about their work and what they would improve next time.”
Ian Mackinnon, chief executive at TTS, added: “It is a pleasure to give back to our local community and support Greenwood Primary School in transforming a well-loved space into one that inspires children to explore new ideas, express themselves through art and build their confidence.
“We’re proud that our team and resources are helping to create engaging learning environments that empower young learners while making everyday teaching and learning that little bit easier for educators.”
