Glowing Ofsted report for Mansfield primary school
Staff and pupils at a Mansfield primary school are celebrating after inspectors praised “excellent” behaviour and a culture in which “every pupil is included”.
Wynndale Primary School received ‘strong standard’ in the attendance and behaviour, inclusion and personal development and wellbeing categories.
Inspectors gave The Wynndale Drive school the ‘expected standard’ in the remaining categories – achievement, leadership and governance and curriculum and teaching and early years.
The report, published on September 8 said: “Pupils are proud to belong to this caring and supportive school community. They say that everyone is valued and describe the school as being like one big family.

"Staff know pupils well and build warm, positive relationships with them. Pupils feel safe, cared for and know that adults will listen if they need help.”
Pupils' behaviour was described as “excellent” with inspectors stating “pupils understand and follow the high expectations of the thoughtfully designed 'Wynndale way'.”
Leaders at the school were said to have a clear vision and are “ambitious about what all pupils can achieve, academically and personally.”
Inspectors highlighted the inclusive feel of the school where “pupils feel included and valued” and understand the importance of treating others with “respect and celebrating difference.”
To further improve inspectors said leaders should ensure that staff use their interactions with children in the early years to consistently develop children's knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics so they are well prepared for Year 1.
The school was inspected under Ofsted’s new inspection framework, which no longer results in a single overall grade. Instead, schools receive a detailed report card with separate judgements across key areas of school life.
