Exceptional results in ‘exceptional circumstances’ for Queen Elizabeth’s Academy students

Queen Elizabeth’s Academy students collected their centre assessed grades today – and the outcomes reflected the hard work and dedication they had given to their GCSE studies.
Many of these talented young people will now move on to further education, apprenticeships or employment.

Hide AdOne of this year’s top performers, Ben Meldrum, received 7’s in biology, history and engineering, and is going on to study engineering at college.
He also achieved three grade 6’s and three grade 5’s.
Another student who was delighted with today’s results was Zoe Morley.
Zoe achieved grade 9’s in English literature, English language and history.
Shannon Jackson achieved above her target grade in nearly all her subjects with five grade 7’s and a grade 8.

Hide AdShe said: “I am celebrating later! Thank you to all of my teachers.”
Hard work and determination paid off for Murhaf Ieed, a Syrian refugee who joined the school in year 9.
He said he was ‘so happy’ after he met all of his targets, including achieving an A Level in Arabic.
Leoni Skye Anderson Booth said she has ‘loved her time at QEA’ and was one of the academy’s most improved students of the year.

Hide AdLeoni’s impressive work ethic and hard work after school and at home paid off as she achieved above target in many subjects.
Principal, Kimberley Willmot, said: “This has been a year that none of us could have ever imagined.
"I am delighted that our GCSE students have been awarded grades which are representative of the hard work and determination that they have demonstrated over their time at Queen Elizabeth’s Academy.
"I am confident that these grades reflect the abilities and successes of this year’s cohort.
"I would like to congratulate every single one of our year 11 students for their achievements and wish them every success moving forward.”
