All the schools that have closed in Mansfield and Ashfield due to coronavirus

Holgate academy in Hucknall sent pupils home at 12pm after a parent advised the school they had been diagnosed with the virus.

In a letter to parents, principal Mr M Pennington advised that the school will be closed up to and including the 3 April and will continue throughout the Easter break.

He added that the school will continue to review the situation, but our current expectation is that we will re-open on Monday April 20, and that all students will have access to learning resources and homework.

Sutton Community Academy will be closed to year 8 pupils as of tomorrow (March 18), due to ‘significant levels of staff absence’.

David Mackey, principal, stressed that there are no confirmed cases of any student or member of staff at the academy contracting Covid-19.

St Mary Magdalene C of E school in Sutton has closed to Foundation and Year one, and years 2-6 are still to attend school as normal.

Newlands Junior School sent a text to parents to advise that the school will be closed for the next two weeks because of staff absences.

Mansfield Primary Academy is closed from tomorrow until Monday April 20, again, due to staff absences.

Marion Clay, Service Director for Children, Families and Cultural Services for Nottinghamshire County Council said: “ Schools are taking all necessary precautions and by following advice we can do all we can to limit the spread of the virus.”
