The fantastic farm is a charitable trust, which gives permanent homes to livestock who are elderly, disabled or have special needs.
Founded by Di Slaney, the sanctuary is run by a specialist team, plus volunteers and funded by donations.
If you would like to help the animals donations are always welcome, visit the Manor Farm website at www.manorfarmcharitabletrust.org and hit the donations button from the home page.
Here are just some of the farm’s extraordinary characters…

. Golden oldie goat Reggie loves visitors, fuss and bananas!
Meet Reggie, who is a very large and comical Toggenburg goat who came to the sanctuary in 2014. He had been abandoned with his mum, sister and aunties on a farm where the owner had died. He’s now aged seven and starting to develop arthritis but still acts like a youngster, making sure he’s always at the front of the queue for attention and treats. Reggie loves visitors and fuss and bananas - especially bananas! Photo: Annice Bridgett/Manor Farm

. Brooke the pig is a 'cougar' dating younger chap Boris!
Meet Brooke the pig, who came to the sanctuary in 2015 having been kept as a youngster in a very small cage without piggy company. Initially paired with older pig Simon, since being widowed in 2019, she’s now ‘dating’ gorgeous younger kune kune pig Boris, but they’re taking it steady as Brooke is a bit hormonal now as an older lady. Being pigopausal has put her off some of her food so she has to be gently reminded to eat with a little bit of cheese, her favourite snack. Photo: Manor Farm

9. Buttons the little chocolate brown miniature pony with a big personality
Meet Buttons, the tiny Miniature Shetland pony. Like his chums, Teddy the Dartmoor pony, and George and Hugo the donkeys, who are being fostered at Manor Farm, Buttons is chocolate brown. Although very small, he is definitely the leader of the gang, known as the Four Chocolateers! Thought to be around 20, Buttons came to the farm about three years ago after being overlooked for about six years at another rescue centre. Buttons is already something of a Chad celebrity. He hit the headlines recently after being spotted with his magic wheelbarrow, trick and treating in Bilsthorpe, wearing a Halloween hat, bows and leggings! He loves wearing fancy dress, and even has his own dressing up box! Photo: Manor Farm
