The celebratory event, dubbed "RugbyFest," not only provided a chance to meet one of the sport's biggest stars but culminated in a sensational hat-trick of victories for the Mansfield girls' and women's teams.
World Champion Hooker Amy Cokayne, who expertly balances her elite sporting career alongside being in the RAF, spent generous time with the crowds, offering coaching tips, posing for photos, and sharing her journey. The enthusiasm was matched by local Brownies and Guides, who attended and formed a cheerful Guard of Honour to welcome the senior Mansfield Women's team onto the pitch.
An "Electric" Atmosphere
Catherine Chambers, Event Organiser and player development team member at MRUFC, reflected on the day: "The atmosphere at Mansfield RUFC for RugbyFest was absolutely electric – a true celebration of rugby at all levels. We were thrilled to see local groups like the Brownies and Guides joining in, alongside over 50 enthusiastic children, many of them new to the sport, running around and trying out new skills was fantastic.
"Of course, the highlight was welcoming World Cup winner Amy Cokayne, who was so generous with her time, inspiring every single person who came to meet her. The feeling was only topped by the brilliant results on the pitch, with our Women's team, U14, and U16 Girls all securing well-deserved wins!
"I want to extend a massive, heartfelt thank you to all the Mansfield RUFC volunteers, especially those who gave up their time on the day. These events simply don't happen without their tireless effort and commitment to grassroots rugby."
Triple Win Success
The day's inspiration fuelled impressive results on the pitch as three female teams secured important wins:

- Junior Dominance: The U14 Girls also took a fantastic win in their scheduled game, highlighting the future strength of the section.
