Midlands-based homebuilder Spitfire Homes has launched a festive initiative to bring the Radcliffe on Trent community together in the run up to Christmas, combining donations, fundraising activities and collaborations with independent businesses.

Throughout the first 12 days of December, the homebuilder is donating books, toys and essential winter items to support families, children and vulnerable individuals. Supported by a range of local businesses, including The Pantry, One More Chapter Bookshop and The Flower Shop, Spitfire is also giving away local experiences, festive gifts and seasonal items for the whole community to enjoy.

Spitfire’s longstanding partnerships with independent businesses is further strengthened through its award-winning Gold Card scheme which encourages residents at its new Sherbourne collection to visit local establishments and support Radcliffe on Trent’s economy.

Jamie, from The Pantry in Radcliffe on Trent, said: “We’re really pleased to be taking part in the Spitfire Advent Calendar initiative this year. As an independent business local support is incredibly important to us and we’re excited to share a little festive warmth within our community. We’re looking forward to welcoming more people through our doors and reminding everyone how valuable it is to support independent businesses on the village high street.”

As part of the festive initiative, Spitfire is also making a donation of essential items to Emmanuel House, a charity that supports vulnerable people in Nottingham with practical support, safe accommodation, guidance, and advice, helping them regain stability and independence. They also work closely with local partners to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and provide essential support during the winter months.

Matt Vincent, Operations Director at Spitfire Homes, said: “Spitfire Homes is proud to be part of the growing community in Radcliffe on Trent which is home to a wide range of small businesses and local organisations that make the area what it is.

“Our new festive community initiative builds on the success of our Gold Card scheme but takes it a step further by offering a more personal touch at a time of year that can be difficult for many. This is something we’ve never done before and it is designed to benefit the whole community, not just those living in our new homes at Sherbourne. By supporting local businesses, charities and community groups, we want to help ensure everyone feels valued and included this festive season. We are very excited to start the initiative and encourage the whole Radcliffe on Trent community to follow along and get involved.”

Launching on Monday 1st December, Spitfire’s festive community initiative is free to enter and open to everyone in Nottinghamshire. The Advent Calendar is also being shared at other locations across the Midlands, supporting more than 16 independent local businesses along the way.
