Toolkit boost for apprentices

Two apprentices that work for bespoke fit-out specialists Jephsons Shopfitters in Mansfield have received special tool kits worth £100 each from timber and building supplies company Jewson.

The tool kits have been provided in recognition of Jephsons’ support for Lewis Ferrer (17) and Mark Bingham (17), who are studying carpentry and joinery as part of the National Apprenticeships Shopfitters’ Members Apprentice initiative.

The pair study at Vision West Nottinghamshire College when they are not learning their trade on the shop floor at Jephsons.

Glyn Marley, sales manager for Jewson, said the presentation marked a long-standing relationship between Jephsons Shopfitters and Jewson.

He said: “Jephsons have been a really great company to work with over the years and we are delighted to be able to support them in developing their apprentices.”

Nigel Schofield, Operations Director at Jephsons, said the gifts from Jewson will be a major boost for the two apprentices.

He added: “We are bringing on and investing in the two young lads and it’s great to have this support from Jewson. Having their own tool kits will make a massive difference to Lewis and Mark and I’m sure will play a major part in helping them achieve their career goals.”
