The new £37 million Gulliver’s Valley theme park in Rotherham, just over the border from Sheffield, is looking for up to 150 staff – and job applications are now open.

Bosses behind the huge 250 acre attraction which is due to open in Rother Valley this spring have released more details about employment opportunities there, which range from catering to running the rides.

They estimate that 120-150 jobs will be created during the first phase of development at the theme park, which will boast more than 50 rides and other attractions, including an indoor climbing centre, an indoor play area and a Lost Jurassic World area populated by lifelike animatronic dinosaurs.

Julie Dalton, managing director of Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts, said: “As we get closer to opening Gulliver’s Valley later this spring, we are getting incredibly excited about the opportunities that are arising for the local community to get involved.

“Launching our recruitment drive is a major part of this as it would be wonderful if we could recruit individuals from the South Yorkshire area so they can really take advantage of this new theme park which will be on their doorstep.

“We are looking for people who share our aim to give families and children quality time and memories, through fresh air and fun activities. The right candidates will be enthusiastic, fun loving, have good communication skills, be flexible and show great initiative.”

Ms Dalton said the operator would be holding additional evening recruitment sessions tailored to candidates with additional needs, with a ‘more comfortably paced process’, fewer crowds and help to complete the application to ensure it does not miss out on any ‘special talents’.

To apply for a job, send a CV and covering letter to [email protected] by Monday, March 9.

Selected candidates will be invited to a recruitment weekend event on March 14 and 15.

People who want to attend the additional needs recruitment sessions should indicate this on their email/covering letter to get more information.
