New masks offer protection for members of the public in Mansfield
A Mansfield business has started up a new firm to promote and sell face masks to the public.
Source Control Masks Ltd has been launched as a trading name of Hall-Fast Industrial Supplies Limited.
On launch, the Mansfield firm announced that they intend to promote clear messages on the use of masks while also raising money for the NHS by donating £5 for every pack of five masks purchased online.
The original ‘Source Control Mask’ is a reusable and washable mask. It is not a PPE mask that is meant for healthcare workers.
An initial 25,000 black masks are on order and available to dispatch to customers.

Managing director Malcolm Hall said: “There has been a lot of graft and very long hours put in but within just six days we were up and running and already taking pre-orders online.
“Initially we are selling the masks in black, however other colours will be available to pre-order online in the coming weeks.
“There has been a huge global surge in demand for PPE items with limited stocks available for frontline workers.
“It is important that businesses and the public do not wear a PPE mask that is meant for a healthcare worker.”
