On the back of the government initiative, ‘Eat Out to Help Out’, which is helping the hospitality industry get back on its feet with 50 per cent off food on Monday to Wednesday in August, the owner of a Mansfield-based accountancy firm thought there were still people ‘being left out’, and has decided to do something about it.

Craig Benford, owner of BFS Accountants, came up with the idea to offer free marketing to businesses in need to help them get back on their feet post-Covid.

"I own an accountancy practice in Mansfield and we have been supporting loads of local businesses through covid, and what I have noticed is that there are some businesses that have fallen through the cracks.”

BFS Accountants have joined forces with another Mansfield-based company, social media marketing specialists I-Sourcer, as well as radio station Mansfield 103.2, who are offering 50 per cent off their usual advertising costs as part of the initiative.

John Morley, owner of I-Sourcer, said on Facebook: “Throughout August we are offering to shout about your business in our “Shout Out to Help Out” campaign.

The initiative aims to give companies and individuals who may have lost work during the pandemic free marketing to get more business in, and garner some interest and recognition online to get them back on their feet.

The time of the telesales marketer at BFS Accountants is now being utilised for these businesses, and Mansfield 103.2 is giving businesses a shout out on the radio every day throughout August.

Craig said: "Almost all the slots have gone – there are only four left because we have had a massive uptake on it.

“I just thought, ‘there’s people being left out here, there are people that need help.’

“We have had to put it together really quick – and the slots have gone even quicker.”
