Jamie has been interested in technology and gaming since he was a boy and has even built his own computer.

He decided an apprenticeship would be ideal to develop his skills, combining on-the-job training with academic work.

He said: “It’s a really supportive environment here and I’m enjoying the whole experience.

"It’s great to deal directly with customers and help them find the right solutions for their particular issues.”

Apprentices at the company, based on Farrington Way, are supported by its in-house Your IT Academy which provides training and development opportunities for all employees, while also offering them financial incentives to develop their skills and knowledge.

The firm has won several awards in recent years and provides managed IT services to more than 100 businesses across the UK.

Jamie is the second apprentice to be recruited by the company this year.

He was keen to join a local business, having gone to school in nearby Selston and studied for A-levels at Bilborough College.

Sam Hewson, head of people development, said it was important to encourage all the firm’s apprentices to develop their careers.

She said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Jamie to the team.

"Our vision is to nurture and develop our apprentices and give them the individual support they need in order to flourish.”
