Since it opened on August bank holiday in 2015, Ciao Bella has built a reputation for being a culinary hotspot with Mansfield food fans.

The Grade II-listed building has housed many businesses over the years but Ciao Bella owner Tamer Abouelela has given it the high end, homely and welcoming environment to stand out and be different.

Two years ago, the business expanded to include a city-style bar and lounge directly next door.

And since the hospitality industry reopened on July 4, the restaurant, lounge and bar have been fully booked every weekend.

Tamer said: "From day one, I’ve always been passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and our customers always leave as a friend.”

Tamer also acknowledged the support he has had from Mansfield District Council in getting the business off the ground, particularly from the town’s former mayors Tony Eggington and Kate Allsopp.

He continued: “It was Tony who found the building for me and and Kate who fully supported the plans to extend the site for a lounge and bar.

I’m also delighted to announce that we now own the freehold to Ciao Bella Restaurant, Lounge and Bar.

"This is thanks to the current mayor Andy Abrahams and his team.

"Having spoken to other business owners in and outside the area, the funding support and guidance provided by the council during lockdown has been the best in the country I believe.’

'Ordinarily, it would be an opportunity to party and celebrate.

"However, considering the COVID situation we will celebrate behind the scenes with our staff, not only thank them for the last five years but for adapting to the new operating procedures and managing the overwhelming custom that the Eat Out to Help Out campaign has brought."

'We look forward to continuing to serve customers old and new and providing a great venue for meeting up with friends.”
