Mansfield photographer creates shopping app to help small businesses

Serena Lamb, owner of Child Whisperer Photography, which she runs from her home studio on Lindhurst Lane, hopes the app will help the local business community reach old and

new customers, encourage them to support and shop locally and go some way to the rebuilding the local economy.

She said: “Fighting off the giant online retailers is hard enough at the best of times, the proof of that is on the state of the high street before lockdown.

“But it’s small businesses which our nation relies upon. They are essential for the local economy as well as for creativity and individuality. Local business is at the heart of many small communities with many of them also supporting local charities by raising essential funds throughout the year.

“However, competing for the public pound always stretches running costs with the increasing need for paid advertising.”

The Support Local, Shop Local App costs businesses nothing to be a part of and will also be free for users to download.

Local businesses can sign up to be featured on the app by completing a simple form using the web address https://www.childwhispererphotography.com/shoplocalappsignup.

This page will also include the details of each local business involved and will be updated as new businesses come onboard.
