Mansfield District Council begins issuing grants for businesses hit by Government lockdown restrictions

Mansfield District Council is now ready to distribute the Government’s latest financial support package for local businesses affected by tier two and three restrictions and the national lockdown.

There are various grants available for businesses, subject to their eligibility, with the amount payable depending on the rateable value of the business premises.

Councillor Craig Whitby said: “We hope these schemes will prove a valuable lifeline for businesses at this very difficult and stressful time.

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) discretionary scheme is aimed at businesses that were not legally forced to close but were severely impacted by the localised social restrictions, October 14 to November 4.

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) mandatory scheme is for those legally required to close when Nottinghamshire entered tier three on October 30, or at the start of national lockdown on November 5.

The Local Restrictions Grant (Sector) scheme is available to businesses that were legally required to close on March 23 and have remained closed.

There is also limited funding for one-off discretionary payments for traders not in the council’s Business Rates system, and those impacted by supply chain disruption.
