IT firm boosts its ranks with new apprentices from Mansfied and Sutton

Il-Sung Sato and Louis Canning are now both apprentice service desk engineers at Your IT Department in Eastwood where around a third of the company’s workforce has come through the apprenticeship route.

Il-Sung, aged 39, who lives in Mansfield, has more than a decade of commercial experience in digital marketing, including data analysis and customer-focussed problem solving.

He said: “I’ve always been technically-minded and I enjoy working with IT and trouble-shooting.

“There’s a great support structure here at Your IT, which will help me to make the most of this fantastic opportunity.”

Louis, aged 25, is from Sutton and was a pupil at Sutton Community Academy before studying at West Nottinghamshire College.

He learned about the apprenticeship through the training provider Althaus Digital.

He said: “I like the combination of hands-on learning with Your IT and the academic work with Althaus.

"I’m really enjoying the practical experience of speaking to clients and helping them to find the right solutions for their particular issues.”

Apprentices at Your IT Department are supported by the company’s in-house Your IT Academy which provides training and development opportunities for all employees, while also offering them financial incentives to develop their skills and knowledge.

Sam Hewson, head of people development emphasised the importance of encouraging all the firm’s apprentices to develop their careers.

She said: “It’s great to welcome Il-Sung and Louis to the team.

"Our vision is to nurture and develop our apprentices and give them the individual support they need in order to flourish.”

Your IT Department has won several awards in recent years and provides managed IT services to more than 100 businesses across the UK.

Last December, the firm was named in the Top 50 Best Managed IT Companies in the UK for the fourth year in a row.
