Medical Device Distributor, based in Mansfield, pledged to donate 1,000 medical grade face-masks to the NHS John Eastwood Hospice in Mansfield.
The company also gave further donations of boxes of face masks to Mansfield nursing homes including the Baily House Care Home, on Botany Avenue and Woodleigh Christian Care Home, on Norfolk Drive.
Christopher Hill, managing director of Medical Device Distributor, said: “We hope that this gesture will show our gratitude for the hospice and the nursing homes’ continued efforts during this difficult time as well as easing some of the cost pressure associated with the increase in demand for PPE.”
The masks were handed over by Christopher himself on Monday.
He added: “We do have a few more boxes of masks if there are any other local care home businesses or similar organisations who might need them.”
Tracey Joyce, who is the deputy trust manager at the John Eastwood Hospice, said: "It was quite unexpected and it is always a lovely gesture when businesses in our community want to us help out.
"We are hoping to use the masks in the charity side of our organisation and we will probably give them out to our volunteers who work in the shops to help keep them safe.”
If there are any local care home businesses interested in receiving masks they are asked to email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
