End of the line for networking group

After three years, Mansfield’s business networking group The Tuesday Club has closed its proverbial doors.

Run as a partnership between PR and marketing agency Parker PR and Chad, the club has met at over 30 different locations and been attended by over 300 different businesses from across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.

Tributes from local businesses have flooded in after they were told about the closure by meeting organiser Graham Parker of Parker PR.

Helen Gent from The Rose Bower in Sutton commented “It certainly will be a sad farewell – the Tuesday club meetings have always been most enjoyable.

“Not only have I gained business contacts and customers from these but I have made some good friends too.”

Director of Hewitt Card Yvonne Card said “We have built up some good contacts and are working with a number of businesses that we got to know better through The Tuesday Club, thanks for your efforts keeping it going as long as you have.”

Graham Parker admitted that it was not an easy decision to call an end to the Club.

“It’s with a heavy heart that I have taken the decision to close The Tuesday Club down.

“As a business owner I face pressure on time and resources and organising the monthly meetings was no small matter.

“I am developing a new business speaking career and unfortunately for all those that have enjoyed the meetings I need to focus on that.

“ I’d like to think that The Tuesday Club has had a very positive impact on our local economy and if the feedback from members is anything to go buy I’m sure it has.”
