This has been the most extraordinary of years with huge challenges faced by businesses and communities in the face of the coronavirus pandemic and the commitment of individuals, organisations and companies has been incredible.

And to reflect that, this year’s Chad Business Awards – open to nominations from the Mansfield and Ashfield area – has a category called The Big Thank You Award.

And it’s thanks to the sort of people who will be nominated for this award that society has been able to cope in the way it has so tell us about your coronavirus community heroes.

If you’re talking about heroes, then key workers are top of the list for many and one group that has earned it’s own category in this year’s awards are the teachers.

When the country went into lockdown back in March, many schools – although officially closed – remained open every day for the children of vital key workers.
