New menswear store hoping to be a success despite coronavirus
A new menswear store has opened in the town centre and its owners are hoping Mansfield residents will make it as popular as their flagship store in Ilkeston.
Henry George Menswear has had an impressive year, opening their first store in nearby Ilkeston and quickly amassing a loyal following both in-store and online during lockdown.
Given the opportunity to move into a new unit on Queen Street, just off the marketplace, owner Luke Slaney described the offer as ‘too good to turn down’ and the shop opened on Wednesday.
Stocking casual brands such as Fila, Lambretta, Sergio Tacchini and Peaceful Hooligan, the shop caters for fans of old-school, classic labels, with a nod to the 80s and 90s.
Operations manager Ashley Allen said: “Our first shop was really popular so we’re excited to make a success of the new Mansfield branch.
"We know it’s been a strange year for everyone, but we’re hoping the shop will be really popular.
"We’ve had a great start so far and the feedback has been great, so we’re hoping that everyone comes down and checks us out.
“Mansfield has some great shops for a town this size, so we’re hoping we get good footfall.” he continued.
"We stock really popular brands without big price tags, so we’re hoping to make it a huge success.”
