With 2020 finally being the year that electric vehicles became more mainstream and affordable, and the discovery that electric cars are £100 cheaper per year to run, Car Charged UK in Mansfield Woodhouse began a consultancy service for home and businesses wishing to move to a more environmentally friendly mode of transport and a greener future.

From advising on government grants which may be available to optimum location and design, they provide an end-to-end consultancy service for personal and business users considering the switch.

Steve Wright, head of operations, is hoping to see more people in the Nottinghamshire area taking the plunge after recently installing a charging point at The Summit Leisure Centre in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, creating a new income stream for the centre.

Steve explains: “We want to get the message out that we are in the area and can help with the full process – it can seem daunting making the switch, but we cover the whole journey for you.

"We’re really hoping to start seeing more people charge towards a greener future and that businesses and car park owners will come forward to explore new revenue options with us – we currently supply an app to our customers showing where their nearest charging point is and we’d love there to be more in this area.”
