Lidl planning up to 10 new stores across Nottinghamshire, including two in Mansfield

Supermarket chain Lidl is eyeing up 10 sites across Nottinghamshire for new stores, it has revealed on its website

The German discount retailer wants to double its existing portfolio and to continue its ‘phenomenal growth’ it requires further sites.

According to a property requirement brochure published on the Lidl website two new stores are being looked at for the Mansfield area (north west and south ) one in Kirkby and one in Hucknall.

The chain is seeking freehold, leasehold or long leasehold opportunities on prominent sites in town, district, edge of centre or out of town locations.

The brochure states: “Stores could be stand alone new builds, conversion of existing buildings or new build retail parks.

Ideally they should have main road frontage with easy access and strong pedestrian or traffic flow. Unit sizes would be flexible between 14,000 and 26,500 sq ft; 1.5 acre plus stand alone units or up to 4 acres for mixed use.”
