KFC issues stark warning to drive-thru and takeaway customers over bank holiday weekend

KFC has issued a stark warning to its customers – ‘don’t be a tosser’.

The fast-food chain made the plea after facing a backlash on social media for the amount of KFC packaging which has been dumped by litterbugs since it reopened hundreds of its restaurants for delivery only and drive-thru orders.

In a post on social media, KFC said: “Don't be a tosser.

“Fried chicken fans, we’ve missed you. A lot. And we know you’ve missed us too. We saw those homemade attempts and they really made us smile.

“But something that doesn’t make us smile is people spoiling our communities and wrecking the environment.

“Yup, litter. So that’s why we’re asking you, with love, not to be a tosser.”

The company added: “Our team members are on the case carrying out regular litter picks around restaurants. So when we still see photos online of KFC litter on UK and Irish streets, we really do throw our wings up in despair.

“Being a good neighbour matters – so we just want to encourage you to take your litter home with you, or toss it in the bin.”

KFC ended the message: “With great chicken comes great responsibility. Let’s all do our bit.”

Commenting on the post on Twitter, one KFC fan suggested: “Start printing number plates on to boxes.”

Another said: “Do people even CARE about bins anymore?”

And someone else added: “The roads were so clean until fast food chains decided to open again.”
