Urbanity opened on April 12 after its owner, Chris Story, used the lockdown period to refurbish the old Toni & Guy premises, on West Gate, into his dream hair and beauty salon.

The exciting new venture, which boasts six stylists, two juniors and two make up artists, hopes to give its Mansfield clients a taste of ‘urban living’ in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

The 48-year-old said: “It’s really great to come back to Mansfield and breathe some life into the place.

"I have big plans for the new salon, so I’m so happy to finally open – we have a great team ready to look after all our new customers.

"We hope to eventually create a makeup academy to run courses, and we have a qualified aesthetician starting soon who will be able to offer Botox and other treatments.
