Tickets are £15 (concessions £12) and can be purchased from Natural Choice, Ashbourne on 01335 346096 or at the door.

John Rutter’s Requiem, completed in 1985, is a spectacular combination of parts of the Latin Requiem and English church psalms.

Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria was written in Venice for an orphanage choir and the music reflects the city’s brightness, warmth and excitement - its vitality and range of ‘good tunes’ make it hugely popular with both choirs and audiences.

Lesley-Jane Rogers is a versatile, exuberant and captivating soloist who has worked with many leading conductors and orchestras and released over 30 CDs. St John’s Church in Ashbourne will be a splendid venue at which to revel in her soaring soprano. She will also sing Handel’s Let the Bright Seraphim.

Anthony Thompson, who will also perform the Trumpet Voluntary by Stanley, is one of the busiest trumpeters in the north of England. Both as orchestral and guest trumpet he, too, has performed at the highest orchestral levels, and with artists from The Sixteen to Sting.

For the Derbyshire Singers it will be a nostalgic reunion with Vivaldi, whose music they sang last year in the churches of Venice itself. The audience can be assured of a high standard from the solo performers and the customary committed and polished performance of choral works by the Derbyshire Singers.
