Top season in store at Palace

You can beat the Winter blues at the Palace Theatre Mansfield.

Although the main focus is still on Christmas right now, the venue’s staff are busy working on their offerings for the January to March season – and beyond. So make sure you beat the winter blues and escape the gloomy weather by booking to see some of the great shows coming up at your local entertainment venue.

As always, the theatre is providing a platform for the excellent local talent who use their facilities.

This starts on January 9 (running until Janury 16) when Westfield Folkhouse present Cinderella and continues later into the month with Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood from Mansfield Hospital’s Theatre Troupe (January 23-30.)

Mansfield Operatic Society presents Anything Goes from March 2-6; Masque Productions bring Stepping Out to the theatre stage from March 9-12, and New Youth Theatre will present Carousel on March 14-15.

For the first time, Funky Studios will be performing at Mansfield Palace Theatre with Bring it On – the Musical between March 30-31.

The theatre is excited to welcome Northern Ballet with three performances of Tortoise and the Hare on February 6, aimed at introducing your little ones to live ballet and music.

The theatre’s February half-term children’s show is Pongo’s Party (February 16) which features the voice of CBeebies’ Justin Fletcher.

Musical entertainment comes in all forms for the January – March season, starting with Lauretta Bloomer who performs for Mansfield Music Society on 27 January and is closely followed by Halfway to Paradise (the Billy Fury Story) on February 6, Vampires Rock - Ghost Train on February 13, Grimethorpe Colliery Band on February 14 and Paul Carroll’s Music Hall Tavern on February 24.

A special opportunity to purchase meet and greet tickets is available when the Three Degrees perform in Mansfield on March 18, after which The Searchers bring all their hits to us on March 19.

The Palace Theatre is delighted to welcome Oddsocks to the stage on February 12 with family fun in The Legend of King Arthur, plus An Evening with David Starkey (February 21) and an afternoon with Billy Pearce in the Good Old Days of Variety (March 16) are also on offer in the coming months.

The season ends with a treat for opera fans: Puccini’s La Boheme is at the Palace on March 20.
