Since its inception in 1979, the group has made giant strides and its reputation in amateur theatre circles is second to none.

The group’s annual pantomime Aladdin was a sell-out and amongst those who attended one of the performances at Kimberley School Theatre were representatives of NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association).

NODA annually adjudicates on shows across the country and NOWMADS’ production, which was directed by Martin Belcher, was regarded as “the best in District 3 East Midlands”.

Certificates of merit and a trophy were belatedly presented to NOWMADS at its rehearsals for the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, which is its autumn production.
