The season – which is presented by Tabs Productions and the Theatre Royal – will start with Brian Clemens and Dennis Spooner’s Anybody For Murder? from August 11-15.

Max is planning to murder wife Janet, collect her life insurance, and enjoy life with his girlfriend when friends Mary and George arrive on their Greek island with news they are beneficiaries of a huge fortune.

Plots and plans are hatched, and soon everyone is hell bent on murder.

All that stands in their way is the presence of a neighbour who knows a thing or two about murder – crime writer Edgar Chambers.

This hilarious comedy thriller will have you on the edge of your seat and laughing out loud in equal measures!

Next up is John Goodrum’s adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mystery chiller The Nightmare Room, from August 18-22.

Two women, one locked room, one bottle of poison.

When Helen regains consciousness, she finds herself bound and blindfolded in a locked room.

Her captor, best friend Catherine, challenges her to a deadly game of Russian roulette to decide which of them will win the handsome film star they both desire.

But the game, like the room, is far from what it seems.

The season ends with a premiere production of Robert Thomas’ The Mantrap from August 25-29.

Translated and freely adapted into English by Sean Aita, audiences find that memories can lie and ientities can be stolen, but someone always knows the truth.

Daniel Edwards is desperate to find his wife who has gone missing after an argument at their remote Cornish holiday cottage.

But when he finds himself confronted by a woman claiming to be her, he’s sure that he’s never seen her before in his life.

Is he suffering from amnesia, or is she a fraudster?

This twisty thriller, that Alfred Hitchcock planned to make into a film, will keep you guessing right up to the last minute.

Tickets for all three plays in the season are on sale now at trch.co.uk or on 0115 9895555.
