Newstead Brass set to play at Palace Theatre

THE award-winning Newstead Brass is returning to Mansfield’s Palace Theatre for an evening of entertainment on 17th September.

Following on from the band’s success in a production of Brassed Off in June, members will be performing a variety of brass styles including swing, big band, jazz, film and classical as well as traditional selections.

Swing music from the 1940s through to music from 21st Century will be included in the repertoire, along with scores from modern film blockbusters and chart classics from the last 25 years.

Joining the band members on stage will be Eastwood Colliery Male Voice Choir, as well as the University of Salford’s award-winning Four Tubby Tubas and Derbyshire-based saxophone quartet Imperfect Fifth.

Mark Hanson, from Newstead Brass, said: “After the fantastic experience of appearing as part of the Brassed Off production at the Palace Theatre in June, Newstead Brass are immensely looking forward to returning to perform in this superb venue.”
