INTERVIEW: Britain’s Got Talent duo Jonathan and Charlotte set to shine in Nottingham

Jonathan Antoine and Charlotte Jaconelli, who are both 17, reached the final of the 2012 series of the show and performed in front of an audience of 14million people.

Now, following the release of their debut album Together which shot to number five in the UK charts, they will be embarking on a nationwide tour and will be performing in Nottingham on 23rd June.

Charlotte says that the concert will feature songs from the album - along with a few surprises along the way.

Describing the duo’s pop opera style, she said: “It’s a ‘popera’ sound. We’ve brought our own twist to it.”

As with the album, audiences can expect classical reinterpretations of popular songs by artists such as Queen and Take That.

It is this combination of the modern and the classical which Charlotte says will appeal to people of all ages.

“It opens it up to a much wider age group,” says Charlotte.

Jonathan and Charlotte, who are from Essex, have been friends since they were at school and have been singing together throughout their teenage years.

In the autumn, they will appear in a television show which will see them travel across Europe to meet and perform with some of their idols. They will also receive master -classes from Pavarotti’s vocal coach Leone Magiera and also world famous tenor Rolanda Villazon, who describes Jonathan’s voice as ‘absolutely astonishing.’
