Fun for all the family at Derby Theatre
The big family festive production, running from December 2, until Saturday, January 7, will be Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Journey with Alice - played by Abby Wain - and a whole host of extraordinary and intriguing characters, down the rabbit hole and to explore a weird and wonderful wonderland.
A talented team of actor-musicians will create an enchanting tale for the whole family to enjoy.

Hide AdMeanwhile, the festive offering in the Studio theatre will be Jack, a magical and enchanting tale based on the classic tale Jack and the Beanstalk. Join cheeky little Jack as he climbs the beanstalk to find a very hungry giant, and how is he going to cheer up that angry chicken? Jack will contain original music, inventive puppetry and fun storytelling and will run from December 6-31.
Other family theatre and fun for the autumn includes: The Hogwallops, a chaotic tale of a family of misfits, a wonderful combination of theatre and circus; David Walliams’s Gangsta Granny presented by the highly acclaimed Birmingham Stage Company, which sees Ben’s Friday nights at granny’s about to get more exciting than he could ever imagine; Tales of the Fantastic, a voyage of discovery through magical tales and mystical worlds, suitable for ages five-plus; Finders Keepers, a fun-filled, highly visual and touching show inspired by the story of Moses with music, puppetry and comedy, suitable for ages eight-plus, and Granny Jumper’s Cake Mix, a sensory-swamped, interactive adventure for 2-6 year olds with puppetry, live music, plenty of heart and a pinch of magic.
