Fun for all the family at Derby Theatre

There will be plenty of family fun for you to enjoy at Derby Theatre as the popular venue looks ahead to a busy autumm and winter.

The big family festive production, running from December 2, until Saturday, January 7, will be Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Journey with Alice - played by Abby Wain - and a whole host of extraordinary and intriguing characters, down the rabbit hole and to explore a weird and wonderful wonderland.

A talented team of actor-musicians will create an enchanting tale for the whole family to enjoy.

Meanwhile, the festive offering in the Studio theatre will be Jack, a magical and enchanting tale based on the classic tale Jack and the Beanstalk. Join cheeky little Jack as he climbs the beanstalk to find a very hungry giant, and how is he going to cheer up that angry chicken? Jack will contain original music, inventive puppetry and fun storytelling and will run from December 6-31.

Other family theatre and fun for the autumn includes: The Hogwallops, a chaotic tale of a family of misfits, a wonderful combination of theatre and circus; David Walliams’s Gangsta Granny presented by the highly acclaimed Birmingham Stage Company, which sees Ben’s Friday nights at granny’s about to get more exciting than he could ever imagine; Tales of the Fantastic, a voyage of discovery through magical tales and mystical worlds, suitable for ages five-plus; Finders Keepers, a fun-filled, highly visual and touching show inspired by the story of Moses with music, puppetry and comedy, suitable for ages eight-plus, and Granny Jumper’s Cake Mix, a sensory-swamped, interactive adventure for 2-6 year olds with puppetry, live music, plenty of heart and a pinch of magic.
